GLTC UTR Tournament September 2021

This is a verified UTR Mixed Singles junior event played at the Geelong Lawn Tennis Club over the middle weekend of the September School Holidays on Saturday 25th September and Sunday 26th September 2021.  

The tournament runs on the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) platform; a results-based rating system, which rates all tennis players on the same 16-point scale regardless of age, gender or location.

There will be 3 divisions based on players' UTRs: 

Division 1 - UTR 6.0 - 8.0; 8 players max. 

Division 2 - UTR 4.0 - 5.99; 8 players max. 

Division 3 - UTR 2.0 - 3.99; 8 players max.   

Event format: each division will have 2 groups of up to 4 players. Each group of 4 players will play a singles round robin, playing each other player in their group. Each group winner will play in a play-off for Division Winner and Runner-Up of each Division. Players will play 2 matches on Saturday and 1 match on Sunday. Finals play-offs will be held following the matches on Sunday.  

Match format: for Division 1 and 2, matches will consist of the best of two 6-game sets (T/B at 6-all), with a 10-point match tiebreak if required. Division 3 matches will be the best of two 4-game sets (T/B at 3-all), with a 10-point match tiebreak if required. Regular scoring with deuces and advantage.
