The club is pleased to announce Geelong City Motors as the major sponsor of the $10,000 2010 Geelong City Motors Victorian Grass Court Championships.  Tony Jennett, Dealer Principal - Geelong City Motors and Bob Spurling - GLTC President are shown celebrating the signing of the partnership.  Held for many years in late December, the event celebrates ten years as the state championship.  Past winners of this prestigious event include past and present Davis Cup players Wayne Arthurs and Peter Luczak.

Tennis In Paradise

Geelong Lawn Tennis Club members might be forgiven at times for thinking that they play in a "tennis paradise" given the quality of the facilities available.  However, club members Melissa Mortimer & Lauren McAuley know of another tennis paradise, particularly in the Victorian winter!

Squash Members Part Of Winning Team

Congratulations to the following club members who were part of the winning Division 1 (Hopman Cup) Geelong team at the recent Victorian Country Squash Team Championships at Gladstone Park recently.  GLTC members David Tink, Josh McMillan, Mary Sceney, Carol Newby and Jenny Clark made up half the winning team, who were victorious over teams from Mornington Peninsula, Goulburn Valley, Bendigo and Ballarat.

Club Signs 900th Member

The club achieved a milestone recently when our 900th member joined the club.  Nine year old Lilli Battistella is shown receiving her new member pack from Honorary Secretary Greg Leslie, when she came to the club for the Tennis Geelong "Meet The Team" morning.  Lilli is looking forward to starting her first season of junior competition in Section 15 Girls for the winter season.  Membership of the club is at an all time high, with an increase of 250 members in the past two years taking advantage of the great value club membership represents.
